Sertifi Employee SpotlightThis month’s Sertifi Employee Spotlight is on Regional Account Executive Simone Meerbrey. Keep reading to learn more about Simone’s role, her advice to prospective hires, and what she’d tell her 13-year old self.

What’s your role at Sertifi, and tell me about your day-to-day?

As a Regional Account Executive, my main objective is to grow our customer base by prospecting, demonstrating our solutions, and closing opportunities. On a daily basis, you can find me calling into numerous hotels and management companies working to qualify interest and set up calls to discuss our products. Then, creativity comes into play with how we package our solutions and pricing to best fit a prospect’s needs.

What is your proudest moment at Sertifi?

When I first started at Sertifi, the average expectancy for demos booked sat at 5 a week. I made it a goal for myself to double that and hit 10 a week. By the end of my position as a Business Development Representative (BDR), I set a record of 60+ demos booked within a month.

What advice do you have for prospective new hire candidates?

My best advice would be to dive in headfirst and be a sponge. Really immerse yourself in our solutions and more importantly, learn from your colleagues. Everyone brings something to the table. You can pick up so much knowledge from your direct counterpart or colleagues in different departments.

What core value do you identify with most and why?

Personally, I find ‘Deliver Value’ to be a core value that I revert to consistently when thinking about how to sell our solutions to any customer. I want to be recognized as an employee that can deliver value to my prospects, but also provide value to Sertifi and my colleagues.

What do you miss about being physically in the office every day?

If you know me, you know I’m quite the chatterbox. If I’m not on the phone, I’m conversing with my coworkers, getting advice on a prospect, catching up on the weekend, or laughing at something we experienced. Although I am thankful to have Teams and video calls available as resources, I miss seeing the coworkers that I have grown to call my friends.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

Aside from enjoying being a cat mom to my cat Oliver, I love to spend time with my family and friends. Pre-COVID19, you could usually find me at a restaurant dining out or at a fun bar trying new cocktails. Now my time revolves around my other hobbies like cooking, listening to music, creating art, and weight training.

What celebrity do people think you look like?

With my naturally curly hair as a kid, I was often compared to Alexa Vega in Spy Kids. As an adult, I’ve been compared to Shay Mitchell. It’s flattering since I admire her, but I don’t really see it!

What would you most like to tell yourself at age 13?

No one is perfect, and that’s a beautiful thing! Don’t compare yourself to everyone, be proud of what you accomplish and what you’re capable of. Also, stop overeating candy, you’ll lose some baby teeth too early, and grow to dislike sweets as an adult.
