Q: What is your role at Sertifi and tell me about your day to day?
A: I’m a Cybersecurity Specialist at Sertifi, and my day to day involves administering and monitoring Sertifi’s security solutions, collaborating with the rest of the technology team to implement security measures, working with other teams in an advisory role and overseeing Sertifi’s information security compliance program.
Q: Congrats on your recent promotion, how has your role changed since moving into this role?
A: Thanks! I now manage more security solutions and have more compliance responsibilities. We now plan to acquire more industry-standard compliance certifications once we have achieved Level 1 PCI compliance, so my responsibilities have been changed to accommodate that.
Q: What is your proudest moment at Sertifi?
A: I was really proud of the collective efforts of everyone involved in designing, developing, testing and rolling out FPS, and the independent penetration test performed on it that was completed with no vulnerabilities found.
Q: What advice do you have for prospective new hire candidates?
A: Ask a lot of questions, help as much as you can, and be proactive.
Q: Sertifi is in the process of a PCI Audit, what does this mean for Sertifi?
A: This means that we have engaged the services of a Qualified Security Assessor (an independent 3rd party auditor) to validate our compliance to the PCI DSS requirements, and will be certified as a Level 1 PCI DSS compliant service provider. This will help boost customer confidence in our products and the ability to safeguard their data.
Q: What do you miss most about being physically in the office every day?
A: Chatting with coworkers, trying out restaurants near the office, and especially the Friday happy hours.
Q: What do you like to do in your spare time?
A: I’m usually listening to music, a podcast or the news, watching a TV show, playing videogames, watching soccer (big Arsenal fan), or hanging out with friends.
Q: What would you most like to tell yourself at age 13?
A: I’m pretty sure my 13-year old self wouldn’t listen to anything I have to say, but I’d tell him to keep at it anyway.
